Saving Journeyman Too
Once I became interested in the campaign to save Journeyman I visited their forum . I watched the show a few times and really liked it. I have a special place in my heart for fans who love a show only to see it cancelled.
These Journeyman fans are doing now what we all once did for Jericho and they want to offer a few tips and reminders about what is important.
1. Fans can be involved, even if you have just a few minutes a week. It's wonderful if you can give more of your time but every little bit helps.
2. The campaign can always use more help/suggestions and you can post in those threads on the forum if you're interested.
3. The actions that have the biggest impact on the network are mailing in Rice-a-Roni, sending letters and emails to the network, contacting advertisers. The letters and emails can be brief. The more people who write, the more impact the campaign has.
4. Post campaign action events and talk up the show on networking sites (myspace, facebook, etc), entertainment sites, DVR sites, TV sites.Tell friends and family. Spread the word and encourage fans to participate.Fans can help keep other fans informed by posting on the forums too.
5. Don't give up, be persistent. Let the networks know we want quality shows to remain on the air. There's a lot more information on the forum and there's a newsletter that goes out to forum members.
Get info here about the Rice-A-Roni campaign.
Special thanks to serulous for all her help.
More soon about the campaign.

Jericho Junction
I don't normally blog on Sunday but wanted to make an exception because of today's superb blog post by Terocious at Jericho Junction. One statement that jumped out at me was this one:
"I put aside my personal feelings in many cases and added my hands to the work. I did this not to be a hero but in order to not be a hypocrite. Now I have begun to feel that I am aiding and abetting hypocrites. There are those among us who say their main focus is the show but take every opportunity to push their own personal agendas. This one accuses that one of having no objectivity. To this I say “Give me a break!"
Unfortunately, I believe we have all passed the point of no return. Too many do not wish to add their hands to the work. Too many have their own agenda whether it be retaliation, trying to control the fandom, or simply being vicious.
"The bottom line here is I know longer ask for anyone to put aside differences to secure a third season of Jericho. I now think the only healthy way forward is for folks to let their conscience guide them. This may mean that there are some differences which cannot be overcome. So be it."
So true. The time has come that differences cannot or will not be resolved. We can only do what our conscience tells us and I hope we all have one.

The Jericho Wave
"I was asked to post the ideas I had expressed in the chat for promoting season 2 so people could reference them and those that could not attend could see them. So here they are. - schumi
First, there are a lot of great initiative that people are doing to promote season 2. None are any better than the rest - all have value and we need everyone's effort, no matter how large or small. I've decided to focus my personal efforts in 3 stages or waves that are simple, cheap and everyone can do if they wish.
Wave one - Online (Now)
It takes time to build serious buzz online sometimes between now and the beginning of January, we need to get Jericho back up in the internet topic searches, seek out casual fans and new fans in places other than the traditional Jericho sites, and find those that left away from the CBS board for one reason or another. The current effort to mine the CBS board for old (potentially gone) posters is a great effort in this area. And we need to find not only our lost rangers but new ones as well. If these people choose to step up and help promote the show - great - but that's not why we need them. We need them talking about the show, aware that its back, and come February tuning in. So I'm not out to hype promotion to them - just pass along basic information about Jericho's return (or what Jericho is to new fans) and hope they pass it along to their friends.
* Social Networking sites - myspace, facebook, livejournal, yahoo groups, etc...
* Blogs
* Diggs
* Internet searches
* Commenting on online articles as they begin to appear.
* Help as you can tame the problems in the CBS Jericho chat room. Don't antagonize people, but also don't feed the flames of those seeking attention by causing trouble.
Obviously the online wave needs to continue through the new season - particularly in the social networking areas.
Wave two - Traditional media (right after xmas / new years)
There is already an effort to get a press release out. This is fantastic. I'm going to focus on helping individuals make contact with their local media: outreach, talking points, etc.... Most entertainment and lifestyle sections plan stories like those we want about a month in advance (leaving a few holes in the section for breaking news). Right now these editors are focused mostly on holiday stories, but as soon as the holidays are over and before the "spring" themed stories are prepped they will be looking for those local interest pieces and there we have a good opportunity.
It'd be great to get as many local stories about Jericho as possible the week and particularly the weekend before the premiere airs. These editors will be looking for the local angle. Example - the Pittsburgh paper wanted to talk to Clarke and hear Clarke's Jericho story because Clarke is from Pittsburgh. They love the local angle. Of course if there is enough copy space or time in the segment they will expand to the Jericho and Jericho Ranger story with more broad information but they want to start with the local first.
Wave three - Flyers and other direct contact with potential viewers (week and weekend before the premiere - prep time now though)
People have short attention spans these days. They probably aren't going to remember the info on a flyer more than 3-4 days.
Flyers should be simple, clear and to the point. Example: Jericho Season 2 premieres Tuesday 2/12 on CBS at 10pm
If your area only has 1 CBS station and everyone knows the station # - include it.
Include the day as well as the date. Many people will more easily remember "Tuesday" or "This Tuesday" than be bothered to figure out what day of the week 2/12 is."

Monster Guest Blogger: Nightbird
Thanks to Nightbird for being today's guest blogger.
I appreciate her efforts and her love of Jericho.
******************************************************
I've been drowning in problems in recent times in my life. I could have simply stopped functioning because of it, because it was just too much. But I had learned a simple survival trick.
What can I do that will change things TODAY?
The CBS board has problems. I suspect we aren't the only forum with these. But we do have the board. I'd love to live somewhere else and have a different kind of home, but right now I do have one. Its not perfect but its here. We have this board HERE and NOW. No reason we can't send some feedback about it to the website option, like reporting what happens with forbidden word problems. But what really matters is that we do have it. Fixing the board is a later. Tomorrow, when something perfect is possible. Using it is now.
TODAY we can tell CBS we want the third season. We can write, digg, comment, lend dvd's email friends to check it out and lots of other ideas all of which can get us to this goal.
TODAY the board, Pam Reed and any number of other things are less important and less current than the matter of the third season and SHOWING that we won't fade away. Go and read Rich's transcript from his chat in Jeritopia. WE scare them out there. They have every reason for us not to succeed so they can dismiss social media as a means of achieving a goal. So they can fade back into the old school. So they can prove to themselves we were wrong and not be so terrified until the next time.
Remember this is about a lot more than us. This is about changing the world. We wouldn't be watched by media and advertising and social experts if it was just saving a tv show. We wouldn't be feared either. We wouldn't have made history. We wouldn't have the old school of doing things rooting for the naysayers and ranters because if it was just about a tv show--they WOULDN'T CARE.
Whether or not we meant to, Nuts started a movement for social change. This means tv shows that we like will have a chance to live. It means that the entertainment industry will have to change to accomodate the new ways people act and work. It means that media like the internet will enter its true potential and be recognized by those who fear it as what it has become.
We see these things but in the minds of the old guard they are temporary. Lets send that idea to the cornfield where it belongs.
So what does a third season mean? Maybe Gale Green will be in her kitchen and the board improving. But more than that the board will be here, and those who are scared will be looking for ways to change. We have already had an impact on the way things are done. Check out any board with a new show. People are starting to share addresses to send mail and even wondering what to send the network in protest should they need to. Before they would have been complaining. And this is only tv.
So lets ALL put this in perspective. Our third season is merely the tip of a giant iceberg set to reshape the old guard into the present and future. Lets make sure it doesn't disappear.

Jericho and Nutsonline: Replay
I have had multiple anonymous postings. I have re-set the comment feature for registered users and welcome those whose comments were not allowed through to repost them.
It was brought to my attention recently that there is incorrect information going around about how Nutsonline joined the Jericho campaign. So, I found this article (there are more like it) that says, "Jericho" fan Jeff Knoll helped coordinate with Braverman to get Nuts Online to serve as a distributor. Knoll was one of the originators of the campaign, and his biggest hope is that the network pays attention."
"Jeff Knoll, a fan in Oakville, Ontario, was thinking about shipping some nuts but was worried about them getting delayed in customs. That's when he stumbled across nutsonline.com.
He started talking to Jeffrey Braverman, whose family has run the nut distribution company now called nutsonline.com for three generations."
Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Somebody might write a book.
I found this article to be quite interesting as I've heard so many people recently asking the same question. So, CBS, do you have the answer? Why haven't you done more to promote the DVD? We've given you plenty of free marketing yet you give us what? No promotion. Are you going to bother promoting when Jericho returns? You sure did a lousy job this summer with even letting people know when Jericho might be on. And, I thought CBS did care. Not anymore.
Did You Forget Jericho? - DVD News
"The first season of Jericho hit DVD this week but you’d never know it looking around. Considering all the fuss that surrounded the series a couple of months ago, I would have expected parades, national news coverage, and a hard press by CBS that included banner ads during all of their shows, every other commercial spot, and integration into their other programming (“Hey, I know we’re always sitting around a bar and chatting but did any of you get a chance to check out season one of Jericho? It’s Legendary!). Instead, word surrounding the release is as quiet as if it really was isolated from the rest of the world."
"When I read about Jericho getting canned like many people I just didn’t care. I’d never watched it, didn’t know anyone who watched, and honestly I stopped worrying about Skeet Ulrich’s career after Chill Factor figuring he had died of embarrassment….though somehow Cuba Gooding Jr survived long enough to make Daddy Day Camp god rest his soul. The show popped up on my radar back at Comic-Con where CBS brought the cast out to promote the shows return from the TV grave. For those in the dark again: The show was killed off after the seasons cliff hanger ending…fans were understandably pissed off having given up 964 minutes of their D&D time decided to send nuts to the offices of CBS in rebellion…the nuts being a reference to the last episode…that or they learned of Nina Tassler (The CBS Pres) severe allergic to peanuts…either way I’m assuming nobody sent macadamia nuts."

To Jericho Fans: Old and New
"In the world of communication (advertising, marketing, public relations, political consultation, etc.), people, products, and companies live and die by perception every day and all the time. But, to actively live with the mistaken belief that perception is reality is fraught with peril, delusion, and consequence."
Jericho will return for a Season 2. Jericho Season 1 DVD was released. Now what? For some, the perception seems to be that we can sit back and relax and wait for Season 2. There's no more work to be done. Right?
The reality is that we are not assured a Season 3. We are not assured that Jericho won't be canceled again. We must not delude ourselves into thinking all is well.
To all those who fought during the Nuts campaign;thank you. No one person ever has or ever will save Jericho all on their own. It will take all of us! No, there is no Leader because most of us are adults and we know what we must do. There is no idea more important than another and no one person is more important than another. Believing there is a leader "is fraught with peril, delusion, and consequence."
To new fans: We need you! We need you to help us fight for Jericho. You are important!!!! Your ideas are needed!!! Help us promote Jericho. Please.
Just like in the real world you will meet fans you may not like. As I've always said, " I don't have to like you to work with you." Not liking you does not give me the right to belittle you, call you names, or besmirch your reputation. I will work with anybody who is honestly working for Jericho. I hope you will too.
Letter To Old Fans and New:
Jericho Needs You!!!!!!!!
Re-enlist In The Jericho Army Today!
Are you one of the Nuts who saved Jericho?

We must show CBS that we are still here actively promoting.
Please come home and save Jericho again.

A Monster Fan Interview: Paige
I first met Paige when she posted on the CBS board asking for people to sign the petition for The Black Donnelly's which had just been cancelled. She watched an episode of Jericho and was hooked. Here's what she has to say:
1. Are you a newcomer to the Jericho series?
Yes. I started watching Jericho online shortly after hearing about the Jericho fan campaign to bring the show back. I thought if that many people are sold on this show, it is one that I would like to check out. I watched 14 episodes online to ensure I would be caught up when the 1st season aired again this summer. I have to say that watching the show on my bigger screen is much better than online since the episode buffers every minute or so.
2. What appealed to you that got you to watch?
The pilot left me wanting more; a fictional account of something that could be very real connected with me. It brought to life how much we as a society take so much for granted. How would we survive if something like this happened? We already live in a society where a percentage of people try to make a difference and another percentage expects someone else will and should take care of them. Jericho touches on all of that. Aside from that, the writing and acting is superb. I am left guessing each week about each character; are they good, bad, confused or just trying to get through life like all of us are.
3. How do you think more new viewers might be attracted to watch?
In my opinion if you are trying to get more viewers, you air encore episodes on another affiliate cable channel during the weekend and or in different time slots during the week; or you air Jericho marathons. I personally have become a fan of several different shows once I saw them on a weekend or after another show I was already watching. Marathons are great for the weekend couch potato!
4. What about the show makes you continue to watch?
Once you fall in love with the people of Jericho you want to know how they will survive and what happens next. Jericho leaves you with just enough curiosity to keep tuning in whether it is a character or a plot twist. I just watched Friday’s episode and cried during the last 30 minutes of the show. If a show can move you to tears and then to hope, it is a show worth watching.
5. Who is your favorite character and why?
Hawkins is my favorite character; he was my favorite from the beginning. He is so interesting to me. The love he has for Darcy and the family is shadowed by the job he has to do or is running from. I just can’t figure him out! I wait week to week to see what transpires with his story.
Add a comment if you like.
I can’t believe that Jericho was even considered to be canceled. Jericho is so real on so many levels! It has heart, depth and action to say the least. I hope CBS sees Jericho as what it is; a hit show.

A Monster Fan Interview: Lisibee
Please allow me to introduce you to my friend Lisibee, Beth, Edna. Now, Lisibee/Beth is a wonderful person who loves Jericho.
Margie: She also loves that Sprague and we all know Jake belongs with Emily.
Anyway, Beth is kind, generous, supportive, has a delightful sense of humor, and is half of Margie and Edna.
Margie: The worst half if you ask me.
As I was saying, Lisibee supports all Jericho projects, diggs like a pro, comments, and posts on the message boards. Please meet this passionate Jericho fan.
1. What do you like best about Jericho?
What I like best about Jericho has really evolved over time. Initially, what drew me to the show was the opportunity to watch Skeet Ulrich and Gerald McRaney. But as I continued to watch the show, my favorite thing about Jericho became what so many other people have said: this show draws you in and makes you think about what you would do should something this catastrophic happen in your town. How would you handle it? Would you be able to step up and do what was necessary in order to survive, or would you crumble in time of crisis? (We all hope that we can be stoic when we need to, but who really knows until we’re tested, like the characters on Jericho have been?)
After having watched the entire season multiple times, I’ve realized that my absolute favorite thing about Jericho is how each and every female character is portrayed as strong and capable. All of the women on the show, even the irritating ones, are “tough broads” in their own right. I love the writers, producers, and actresses for that.
2. Who is your favorite actor/actress and why?
Sprague Hayden--she does such a good job with Heather, portraying her as the serious, smart, and slightly neurotic girl-next-door. She’s so earnest in her portrayal, which I love. I cannot tell you how happy I was when we found out Heather was alive--I think my neighbors heard me yelling triumphantly, “I KNEW IT!!”
However, Bob Stephenson is a close second. What he manages to do with Jimmy’s role is nothing short of fantastic. Jimmy may seem sort of bumbling sometimes, but you know he’s just a nice guy who wants to keep his town safe. And maybe provide a little marriage/family counseling along the way.
3. Should people buy the DVD? Why or why not?
People should absolutely buy the DVD, if they can afford to. Not only would they have a copy of one of the best shows to come along in a long time, that they can watch over and over again, but they will also be contributing indirectly to keeping the show on the air longer than 7 episodes. CBS will be monitoring DVD sales, and they’ll be able to see that there’s enough demand for the show to make it fiscally feasible to continue production. Hey, it happened with other shows (i.e., Family Guy), why not Jericho?
4. What is your favorite thread on the RFJ board and why?
My favorite thread on RFJ…that’s a toughie. (If you’ve been paying attention at all during this interview, you’ll see that I am physically incapable of narrowing things down to just one choice.) Being a vidder myself, I’m partial to the “Fan Videos” threads. (I’m constantly amazed to see what people come up with, we have some very talented people in this fandom.) I also like the “Sent to Blackjack” threads, which are a fun way for people to interact who maybe hadn’t before. Really though, I love all of RFJ.
5. How can we attract new viewers to Jericho? To the message boards?
This is something I struggle with all the time. I think the best way to do it is talk about the show—to everyone you see. Talk it up to your friends, talk about it to strangers, find ways to bring it up in conversation without being obnoxious. Ask people if they’ve heard of the show—if they haven’t, direct them to jerichorises.com and tell them they can watch the show online. You never know if the person you’re talking to is part of a Nielsen family. Tell them about the message boards, where there are so many people discussing all aspects of the show. There is the main CBS board of course, but there are also various other boards (RFJ, Jericho Rally Point, Nuts For Jericho) if people don’t feel comfortable jumping right in to the big pond. However, the official CBS site should be every new fan’s first stop.
One of the things that I’ve also done to try and attract new viewers is to promote the show through the fan videos. I send around the YouTube “Promote Jericho” playlist that I put together to everyone I know; it’s in my email signature line, and I actively pimp the videos in as many places as I can. YouTube is such a popular video site, and the more visible and numerous the fan-made Jericho videos are, the more likely it is that non-viewers will watch them and become curious enough to watch the show.
YouTube Promote Jericho video playlist:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=3CFA3B2D80C2AAF4
6. Didn't you create Edna of the Margie/Edna duo?
Yes, I did, although she’d be nothing without Margie! Edna and Margie came about because you and I wanted a creative way to write the “Casus Belli” recap for Amy Vernon’s Guest Blogger Experiment over at the Remote Access TV blog. We realized after we were done with that recap that Edna and Margie had a whole lot more to say, and they both just took on a life of their own from there. Edna and Margie went on to recap “Why We Fight” for Remote Access, and they currently answer fan-submitted questions in a regular advice column.
7. What do you love about those two?
Well, they get away with saying pretty much whatever they want to, in grand eccentric old lady fashion. Although they are gruff and sometimes cutting with each other, they have a sisterly bond that is strong. They have their fingers on the pulse of the Jericho community, and they are privy to all sorts of information. But most of all, they are just so darn fun to write!
Any more comments?
I have had such fun being a Jericho fan these last four months. Prior to the show’s cancellation, I was the only person I knew who watched the show, so I enjoyed it in private. On the eve of the cancellation, I visited the various message boards for the first time, and learned what a large online fandom existed for the show. Then once the word came down from CBS that they weren’t bringing the show back, I joined in and voiced my outrage--primarily in the form of my “Dear CBS” YouTube video, which much to my surprise ended catching the eye of NY Times’ Virginia Heffernan, who used it in one of her “Screens” blogs. I realized at that point just how many unhappy Jericho fans were out there, and I tossed my hat into the ring with everyone else in the “Save Jericho” campaign. Nothing’s been the same since. People banded together in such a short time with a common goal, many of us going outside of our comfort zone to reach out to strangers to promote this fantastic show. I’ve learned a lot about myself over the past four months, and I’m never again going to fall into the trap of thinking that one voice doesn’t make a difference. Because you know what? It can and it did, and I’m so very proud of all of us.
Here’s to many more seasons of Jericho! Keep up the fight, Rangers!

A Monster Fan Interview: Azlady4
Gayle is a Digger extraordaire as well as commenter. You will see her everywhere posting as azlady4. I appreciate her time in doing this interview and I've loved knowing more about her.
1. Do you have a favorite chat room? What is it? If you don't use chat
rooms
why not?
I have never been in a chat room. I have no idea how to navigate one.
I
would like to try one but just haven't gotten around to it.
2. What would you do if CBS canceled Jericho again after Season 2?
I think at that point the only option that might be possible would be to
shop for a new home for Jericho on another network. I have always felt
that
might be a viable alternative if it comes down to that. I know other
networks were interested before so hopefully they would still be
interested
and I feel it would be certainly worth a try. I think that would have to
be
predominantly the producers to do this, but maybe the fans could help in
some way. It has been done successfully in the past with several shows
and I
heard one of the Law and Order series just moved to a cable network so
obviously it can be done.
3. Johnston Green died in Season 1. Will someone die in Season 2? Why or
why
not? Who?
Probably, I think to keep the story realistic somebody has to die, but
unless they really have to cut back the budget I don't think it will be
anybody as significant as Johnston Green. I think maybe Constantino, or
possibly Dale. They both have PO'd a lot of the wrong people so they are
a definite possibility, but will have to wait and see.
4. If you could talk to Nina Tassler right now what would you say?
Nina, we really appreciate the fact that you listened and heard our
voices
and brought back our beloved show. However, you told us that we, the
fans,
need to attract more viewers to ensure a longer life for Jericho. Well,
Nina, I don't really feel that should have been put on our backs in the
first place, but we did what you asked and have been doing everything we
can
within our power to make that happen. But you also said that CBS was
going
to do their part with heavy promoting and advertising and make every
effort
on your end to give Jericho the exposure that it needs to be successful.
I
don't see that happening. Also, although Jericho being preempted for
prescheduled football every other week is disappointing it is
understandable. But these sudden preemptions without warning in some
areas
and not in others, which seems to be happening frequently is not
understandable, and definitely not helping our cause, it is hurting it.
You
may not have any control over this issue if it is the work of the local
affiliates, but if you don’t I just ask that when you check the ratings
performance for each week you be aware that Jericho was not on in all
areas
because it is going to have a negative effect on its numbers. I realize
that you have new shows starting soon and they are a priority right now,
but
we would really appreciate a little communication from you as to what
yours
and CBS's intentions are over the next weeks or months as far as what
your
plans are for Jericho and if and how you are going to promote it.
5. How can CBS count all the viewers who watch and not just a select
few?
They're going to have to find a way somehow, that is a given, because
obviously just going by the few "chosen ones" isn't working anymore. I
really think they need to implement sensors of some kind or find some
method
to count exactly how many "hits" each show is getting from all
televisions
including homes, hotel and hospital rooms, bars, dorms, and everywhere.
If
websites can track how many hits they get, there has to be a way to do
it
with television shows. They also need to start counting international
viewers and not just the US. People in other countries are obviously
supporting and watching American TV, so it is only fair they be counted.
Also, they need to start counting every TIVO and DVR show watched as
well as
all on-line viewers, X-box, IPODS and all modes of watching. The only
way
they are going to get an accurate count is to include all of it. I know
the
advertisers are still pushing the idea that everybody has to watch shows
live to be counted, but lets face it folks – those days are long gone.
Not
everybody is going to.
6. What attracted you to Jericho?
I love the characters, and the actors who play them are fantastic and
they
really bring them to life. When I watch Jericho I feel like I am
hanging
out with my friends and neighbors. They are simply nice people. And
most of
them continue to be nice people even though the situation is ugly. What
makes the story so compelling is that it is something that can very
possibly
happen. I am truly moved when I see this community and how they band
together when there is nobody to help them except each other. Watching
Jericho has really made me appreciate the importance of family and
friends,
and also makes me ponder what it would be like if the things we have at
our
disposal and use every day, ie food, medicine, gas, electricity, clean
water, and even all the little amenities we take for granted like
toothpaste
and aspirin were suddenly yanked away from us and how miserable it would
be
if we suddenly had to do without them. It has given me a whole new
appreciation for those things and how blessed we are to live in a place
to
have them so readily available. I will never take my best friend or my
washing machine for granted again.
7. How can we attract new viewers to Jericho? To the message boards?
I think the fans are pretty much doing everything possible and doing it
well. I am totally impressed how so many people are using their immense
talents to promote Jericho. The banners and artwork are terrific. The
blogs
and articles being written are a great promotional tool and fun to read.
The
videos are fantastic and since many people go to Youtube that is a great
exposure. However, for those of us like myself who are not creative or
computer savvy enough to make a video or computer art, I think word of
mouth
is still one of the best tools there is for selling anything. I think
using
subtle approaches like wearing a Jericho T-shirt or sporting a bumper
sticker and having somebody notice is a great way to stir up interest.
If
they ask about it great, makes it a perfect time to promote it to them.
Even
if they don’t ask directly or make a comment, it is bound to stir up
curiosity then if they are at home and happen to see a Jericho
advertisement, remembering they had seen it on your T-shirt or bumper
sticker might just give them that extra nudge to tune in and see what it
is
all about. Also posting fliers and signs in conspicuous places is a
great
way to get attention. I am not in sales or marketing but I believe that
subliminal suggestion is a very effective way to sell something, and I
believe it is working even if it is just a few at a time. Rome was not
built
in a day. Now it is time for CBS to step up to the plate and do their
part.
As far as the message boards go, I would not be too concerned right now.
I
don’t think the traffic has really dropped off permanently; it is just
that
right now nobody really knows anything. Everything is kind of at a
standstill and it is just a waiting game. Once the dates for the new
episodes are released and more information is divulged, there will be a
lot
more to talk about and then people will start wandering back and the
traffic
will increase. That is my prediction.
8. What do you most like to do besides anything involving Jericho?
Laugh. I love laughing. I love being with people who love to laugh as
much
as I do. I love being with my husband because he is so funny and he
makes
me laugh almost nonstop. The world needs to laugh more. Life can stink
sometimes, but I’ve learned in my old age that if you find something to
laugh about it makes it a lot more bearable. We are hopeless baseball
addicts so during baseball season the Diamondbacks dominate much of our
free
time and our TV. The only show I will interrupt baseball for to watch
live
is Jericho; everything else gets DVR’d. HEAR THAT MR. MOONVES!!! I
can’t
think of anything more fun than a day at the ballpark. Other than that
my
family and I are pretty much outdoor people, camping, fishing, or even
just
a hike or a long bike ride. I work long hours indoors and live in the
city,
so I like to spend my free time outside and away from the city.
Any comments?
Just that Jericho is a treasure and well worth fighting for. I want to
say
thank you so much to all the fans who helped bring it back, everyone
from
the major contributors to the ones who just sent one letter or an e-mail
or
made a phone call. My thanks also go out to those who support Jericho
by
simply watching it. Everyone made a difference. I have never been
involved
or even thought of being involved in something like this before, but it
was
a great experience and although my contribution was small compared to
many,
I am proud to have been a part of it. I wish Jericho a long and happy
life.

A Monster Fan Interview: ParAnger
ParAnger is an interesting person. She promotes Jericho much like I do by using Digg, StumbledUpon, MySpace and LinkedIn.
I haven't found too many people using LinkedIn or Stumble until she came along. She's at home on any message board and on the Wiki. She also has some wonderful ideas and I hope you will support them.
1. What do you like best about all the Jericho message boards?
A: I would have to go with the passionate nature of the boards, each one has it's own individual personality yet they are all dedicated uncompromisingly to the Jericho community, this makes for a tremendous heartbeat and footprint on and off of the web.
2. How much time per week do you spend promoting Jericho?
A: This is wildly variable week to week, one week will be just about web stuff, compiling info on the WiKi, digging, commenting on various NON Jericho sites, or emailing people with a new quoted line every week in my signature. During others I have the energy and abandon to make Jericho remarks to just about every one of my clientèle as well as reposting the little mini posters
at the grocery store and /or taking new fliers to events around the city. I always spend about an hour a week at the library and have been accorded permission to place bookmarks on the current events table, and in all new books! I also always take some fliers to the grocery store to leave in the buggies, or on the milk wall, so say between 2 hours and 20 hours depending on my week.
3. Johnston Green died in Season 1. Will someone die in Season 2?
A: If this was heart bet, I would say that none of the Major characters will die, not even Constantino.
But in reality, we have been told that the creative crew have been working very hard to compress an entire 22 episode story arc into seven episodes. Therefore there will be at least two deaths this season.
Q: Who?
A: at least Gray, and maybe Constantino
Q: Why or why not?
A: Jake and Eric need to have a clear path to becoming the
civil and military leaders of Jericho, and Skylar and Dale need to gain control of the Salt Mine to become the terrible twosome.... that would make a great subplot, especially when Skylar's Parent/s return.
Hopeful /wishful thinking, I'd love to see Constantino become a fugitive who eventually comes back to Jericho in season 3 on the side of the angels after seeing the error of his ways, but I think he will be taken out by the Army.
4. If you could talk to Nina Tassler right now what would you say?
A:THANK YOU, both for deeming Jericho worthy of a Pilot and for her supportive comments when she announced the return of the Series. Only Season 3 for ME !!
I would also suggest that she give Quincy Smith a call and let him know that the CBS boards (all of them) need an in house team if they plan on really making CBS interactive an innovative success .
Nina would not get off that easy though, because I would have a hundred questions to ask too.
5. How can CBS count all the viewers who watch and not just a select few?
A: Therein lies the crux.
I believe in the freedoms that our society has today and permitting anyone to devise and implement a system enabling even a purely commercial venture such as CBS to view real statistics may just impinge on some of those freedoms. If anyone figures out a way to anonymously detail all of the right now available stats (internet via various statistical counts / DVR via various cable conglomerates including the on demand features and DVD sales/rentals via retail POS terminals ) they may get a more accurate view of how many times it is viewed, but not how many people are really watching. Maybe CBS could announce during an episode that it is important to be counted and set up a free phone line with an automated counting system, but this could lead to ballot stuffing (to use the term loosely) or even just the accusation of it.
6. What attracted you to Jericho?
A: The premise. I was a fan before I even saw the pilot !
I have always been interested in aftermath survival fiction as reading material, so when I saw the previews I was in. After seeing the pilot, I was hooked. It was as good and better than I had hoped it would be.
7. How can we attract new viewers to Jericho?
A: Talk about it, nothing will ever compete with word of mouth for getting the word out! Even if we each just casually chat it up with ONE new person a day the results could be phenomenal.
Q:To the message boards?
A:comment about them on other boards and online communities. Put a signature in your email, leave a fun boldly stolen from the boards style poster in unexpected places.
Digg, StumbledUpon, MySpace, LinkedIn , DMoz.
I also am a firm believer in the pages at the WiKi, these actors are all fairly well known, if we keep their on-site content fresh , and updated, the WiKi will become the first place people go to get info on them. Don't forget all of the great nuclear aftermath pages and survival related pages that could be our foot in the door so to speak, this will give us an opportunity to get new users in here. (remember the WIKI is a wetpaint wiki so everything that gets posted on it gets spidered by search engines incl. google, alta vista, alexa, this could be HUGE)
a large billboard at every major intersection in America couldn't hurt either.
8. What do you most like to do besides anything involving Jericho?
A: Learn by any means imaginable. I love watching people , talking to strangers, reading books and riding the web, but the main focus of all of these pursuits for me is learning.
Any comments?
Thank you for the opportunity to speak my mind ,
I was honored and extremely flattered when you asked me to participate. Great questions!

A Monster Blogger Interview: LoveJohnston
I had seen LoveJohnston on the CBS boards for a while before I requested an interview. I found her to be interesting and passionate about the show so I wanted to know more. Here's what I found out.
1. Do you have a favorite chat room? What is it? If you don't use chat rooms why not?
No, sadly there aren't enough hours in the day for me to visit a chat room. I'm on the computer way too much as it is already.
2. Will you be watching Season 2?
My husband, daughter, and son-in-law will be watching along with my two grand dogs, Allie and Pippin. What do you mean my grand dogs don't count!!??
3. Johnston Green died in Season 1. Will someone die in Season 2? Why or why not? Who?
R.I.P. Johnston (as a tear runs down my face). I think someone, or more than one person, will die in season 2 mainly because that seems to be the pattern so far. WHO? Well personally, I hope to God it's Constantino. But I don't want Skeet to have to do it. Let's give some of the responsibility to Eric for a change.
4. If you could talk to Nina Tassler right now what would you say?
5. How can CBS count all the viewers who watch and not just a select few?
I don't see how they can as the system is set up now. The Nielsen's would have to change since it seems to be the TV GOD of counting viewers.
6. What attracted you to Jericho?
I watch anything that Gerald McRaney is in. He could just be standing there reading the phone book and I would watch. But I must admit, I was VERY surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. It was suspenseful, different and it kept me at the edge of my seat. And the hour went by so fast!
7. How can we attract new viewers to Jericho? To the message boards?
Wish I had the magic answer but I don't. Not a new answer anyway. I still think our best bet is trying to get the Nielsen system changed. When we let CBS know that we watched JERICHO, why not also let Nielsen know? Write Nielsen during the break often and let's see what can be done....as a group. That would be my best idea.
8. What do you most like to do besides anything involving Jericho?
Interior decorating, refinishing old wood furniture, being with my daughter, being with my grand dog, Pippin. Antique shopping. Taking rides in the country with my husband and taking photos of barns, old houses, and other old things we see along the way. Keeping in touch with my friends via email.

A Monster Fan Interview: Morgan
I haven't known Morgan very long but I am impressed with what I see. She is creative and is always hosting, planning, or thinking of new games to get people involved. She is also helpful, inspiring, motivating, and fun. Please meet Morgan.
1. When did you start watching Jericho? What made you want to watch?
Since I no longer own a TV set, we found out about Jericho in a rather round about way. My roommate [JRP's Doratea] was playing AoL's GOLD RUSH game. In one section, it asked a question in regards to this new TV show called "Jericho" on CBS. She watched a couple of episodes in order to get the answer she needed, and I was watching with her. By the time we got through the first four episodes, we were hooked and eagerly awaited the weekly show on Innertube. Doratea actually discovered the show before I did, but we're both big fans. I would say the first half of the season was just ending when I came into the show, but we watched and re-watched those first 11 episodes time and time again.
I guess what first caught my eye was the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Jake's driving. I grew up with those big muscle cars, and never lost my love for them. Then I saw Gerald McRaney was in the show, and Pamela Reed. Both are superb actors, and two of my favorites. Thirdly, who could turn away after seeing the image of the boy watching the mushroom cloud? That was an inspired bit of advertising! Very eye-catching for anyone who grew up in the 1960s with the Cuban Missile Crisis and Cold War. I remember "Duck & Cover" from elementary school. Once I saw that image, I HAD to know what the show was about. From the name, I actually thought it might be a religious program like "Touched By an Angel." I'm so very glad I took a second look; I've loved it since the first episode.
========================================
2. How did the idea for Jericho Cooks begin? What will be in the cookbook?
JERICHO COOKS: Food for the Post-Apocalyptic World came about when I was going through my cookbooks looking for something, I don't even remember what. I happened across a "fan produced" cookbook for a STAR TREK club I belonged to once, and then a few more from other fan groups. I got the thought, "Maybe we should do one for Jericho." The idea percolated a couple of days, then I brought it up in front of some folks on Jeritopia. Greeneyes371 was there, and seemed to think this was a good idea. She said she'd helped create cookbooks before, so we started talking. Railroadbrat was also interested, and both seemed to think it a worthwhile project. We began to get serious about it. Sarork came in later on, and offered some great ideas, so we hi-jacked her into the Jericho Cooks Committee.
I must be honest and say most of the hard work on this project has been done by Greeneyes371. She's handled everything from researching printers and costs, to layout, to the webpage -- it's all been her hard work. I mostly came up with the idea and wrote a few things. She has been the backbone of the whole cookbook. I can truthfully say, without her there would be no cookbook.
There will be seven sections to the book: Back to Basics, Foods that Last, Outdoor Cooking, Recipes in Retrospect, Food Preservation, Nuts Recipes and Waste Not/Want Not. Most of these recipes can be made in a standard kitchen, with the exception of the Outdoor Cooking, which is designed for camping out. Many people donated recipes that literally cover soup to nuts, including some that use MREs as ingredients. We even have some Native American recipes. We're hoping the cookbook will make an interesting, fun addition to any collection. What makes it even nicer is all these recipes were donated by JERICHO fans. Even the NutsOnline folks donated a recipe! The cover art was designed by a Jericho fan, and we'll be including inspirational and other quotes from Jericho fans.
So, this cookbook is created by Jericho fans with the help of Jericho fans and made for Jericho fans. The website is www.jerichocooks.com -- check it out!
3. What do you like most about JRP?
Hard question to answer. I like lots of things about all the boards. With JRP, I have to say it's the actual, physical design which makes JRP my online "home." It's easy to negotiate, and I don't get lost. The design lends itself well to things I particularly enjoy, i.e., the Fan Fiction Board. The way it's set up, it makes it easier to keep stories and the comments separated from each other, and that makes it nicer for readers as well as writers. JRP members are another thing I like about the forum, although many of us are members of other forums as well as JRP. JRP has always had a warm, friendly atmosphere, sadly unlike I've encountered elsewhere in online communities. Let me clarify that -- other online communities meaning forums for other things than JERICHO. The JRP staff is helpful, like the staff of all JERICHO fan forums, and go out of their way to make sure things run smoothly. As a former staffer on JRP, I can truthfully say there's no such thing as a perfect forum, but JRP tries. All in all, I like JRP because it's easier for me to get around. I've been on all a majority of other Jericho forums, and I'm pleased to say the friendliness is universal. JRP hasn't cornered the market on warmth, but it's one of the friendliest places out there. Believe me, that's not to denigrate ANY of the other forums. I really like them all for various reasons.
=====================================
4. You've started a lot of games like Trivia, BlackJack Hangman, and I understand more are on the way? What is your goal in providing these games for everyone?
The original reason I started Jericho Trivia was to boost activity on the JRP Season One board. Doratea and I were the board mods, and we wanted something fun for members, and something to get them more active. There was the Character Elimination game, but not much more. Since I had started re-watching the episodes, Doratea suggested I might want to jot down a few questions, then post them on the board.
When Jeritopia opened, I thought Trivia might be something fun for fans to do while waiting for the reruns to start. People enjoyed it so much, they asked for a second night, for those who couldn't make it on Saturdays. It sort of blossomed from there into the twice weekly Trivia games. I had also created a few Word Search puzzles and Anagrams for the boards, but they wouldn't translate well to a chatrooms. However, Anagrams and Word Scrambles did, so we occasionally vary what we do on Tuesday and Saturday nights.
There are currently three new games I'm working on for the chatrooms: "Jericho Jeopardy" (with help from Kestral; all answers have to be in the form of a question), "Blackjack Hangman" (which has a few bugs yet to be worked out; it's just like the old Hanman game) and "Whose Line Was That, Anyway?" (which should be premiering Saturday night; I post a Jericho quotation and players have to tell who said it and on which episode). I'm getting lots of encouragement from those who frequent Jeritopia, and I'll keep it up, as long as everyone's having fun. That's the whole idea -- fandom should be fun, and I'm going to do my best to see Jericho fans enjoy themselves.
5. You also have a blog at JRP. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
That's a totally new thing for me. I absolutely loved doing the old "Daily Inspiration" posts on JRP while I was staff, and really missed doing it after I resigned to become a JRP Rep for Coalition of the Willing. I was talking to someone on Jeritopia, and they suggested I give the blog a try. I was kind of hesitant, at first -- new things and all that nonsense! Then I re-read one of my own posts where I espoused change. I couldn't very well NOT do it after reading the words I wrote, so ... I jumped in with both feet.
Blogging isn't very much different than posting the Daily Inspiration, although I guess it's more public. I've never been one to hold back my opinions, although I strive to give as much respect and courtesy to others as I ask for myself. I think blogging is a great way to get new thoughts and personal opinions out there for people to read. It stirs the imagination and makes us think, which is never a bad thing. I enjoy writing in all ways -- fiction, fan-fic, poetry, essays, etc. -- so this is a chance for me to be heard. All writers enjoy knowing they have an audience, and having an audience makes me want to improve my communication skills. In a text-based medium, being understood is of primary importance. Without open lines of communication, things get bogged down. Blogging is a good way to keep those lines open.
========================================
6. What are some of the ways you promote Jericho?
I talk. I email my friends and tell them about JERICHO. I talk. I mention JERICHO when I'm in stores shopping, and there used to be a sign in the back window of my SUV. I got rid of that gas-hog, though, and haven't had a chance to put the sign up in the other car we have. I still write letters to CBS and their local affiliates, letting them know I'm watching -- and that I'm not happy to see JERICHO preempted! -- and that I will keep watching as long as JERICHO is on the air. It's nice to see neighbors and acquaintances here where I live refer to Doratea and I as "the Jericho Ladies." I'm also always trying to think up new ways to promote the show. Like I've started sending original word search puzzles with JERICHO terms to the local newspaper, and I'm looking into the possibility of advertising at the local theater. There are so many ways, it's hard to list them. Mostly, word of mouth is what seems to be working best here.
7. Do you believe fans should participate on all the Jericho boards? Why or why not?
I think fans should participate where-ever they feel most comfortable participating. Each of the boards has its own appeal, and none is any better than the other. Some are easier to negotiate, while others have a warm, friendly atmosphere. The CBS boards pose problems for some folks, which is a shame since that's the best place to find information about JERICHO. Thing is, everyone's different, and every forum's different. That's what makes it so great, having all the different forums. No one should ever feel they MUST belong to this forum or that in order to enjoy JERICHO fandom.
I think Jeritopia has worked wonders by providing a place for ALL Jericho fans to gather. It's a controlled environment, where we feel safe. The CBS chat board is open to the public, which is good and bad. It's a lot of fun, but they get "trolls" there. On Jeritopia, it's a little quieter, but you know the only people there will be other JERICHO fans. We get to meet members of other boards on a "neutral" ground, and there's no pressure to stand up for whichever board you prefer.
It's good to see all the different boards support one another -- which is as it should be. We all have one thing in common, and that's a love of JERICHO. Even as diverse a group as we are, that one thing binds us together. I have been involved with numerous fandoms over the years, and I can truthfully say a more caring, loving group of people I've rarely met. It doesn't matter which board you call home, if you have need, other JERICHO fans are there for you. I've found friends in JERICHO fandom I'll keep for the rest of my life. We're a strong support group, and it really doesn't matter which forum a fan prefers. JERICHO fandom has become a family.
===================================
7. Are you a survivalist? What would you like people to know about it?
Another hard question to answer. I don't think I'm a survivalist in all sense of the word. I don't dress in cammo or go train in the woods -- although I have done it. I was taught how to hunt, fish and camp by my parents, but I've never really done it in order to survive. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say I've probably forgotten a good deal of that. So, no, not really a survivalist in the truest sense of the word.
I do believe in being prepared, yes, and I've taken a few steps to make sure we're ready in case of an emergency. Mind you, I've nothing against people who stock up on things like medicines, non-perishable foods, etc., but it all depends upon how much things cost. I don't have a huge income, so we do what we can afford.
I also think there's a place for survivalists in this uncertain world. True survivalists may end up being important to the rest of us if there's a disaster of the JERICHO magnitude. I think survivalists will serve a great purpose then, and it might be best if we listen to them now. I know several people who I'd classify as true survivalists, and I've learned a great deal from them. However, I've some physical limitations which prevent me from being what I'd consider a survivalist; I couldn't, for instance, live off the land because I'm physically unable to do so. However, I have skills which will be useful, and might be able to barter with them for assistance. I'd like to think of myself as a "survivor," in that somehow I'll manage to get by. Hopefully, I'll never have to put that to the test.
8. Comments?
Thank you for contacting me, and asking me to participate in the interview. I'm very flattered and humbled. The questions were thought-provoking and really made me sit down and look at why I'm doing what I'm doing. It was fun, and I look forward to seeing how other folks answer your questions. I've never been interviewed before, so this was a totally new experience for me. Thank you for the opportunity, and I hope I haven't made TOO many typos!!

A Monster Fan Interview: Kestral
Kestral can be depended on for anything related to promoting Jericho. She has proven herself to be a Team player and she will help anyone who asks. She diggs, comments, and votes. She has great ides and follows through on them. She is one of the best assets Jericho has. Thank you, Kestral for all you do.
1. What do you like about Jericho?
There are many things I like about Jericho. In order to keep this interview from being a novel, I’ll just focus on a few things. The first thing I like about Jericho is that my whole family can watch it together. Not only do we watch it together, but we have many wonderful conversations sparked by the magnificent storyline and stellar acting. I also like Jericho because it stimulates my brain. I am so tired of mindless reality shows and other television programs that don’t challenge viewers on a higher cerebral level. It really makes you think about surviving an attack in today’s world. Am I prepared to survive or would my family be lost? Jericho makes me think about that a lot. Probably the most important thing I like about Jericho is that it speaks to so many people around the world. I never knew until I joined the campaign, just how many different people love Jericho. Jericho’s message knows no boundaries. It speaks to everyone regardless of race, gender, social class, religion, political affiliation and nationality. Every single person can find someone or something they relate to in Jericho. Jericho goes past the boundaries we as society have set for ourselves and speaks to us all on a basic human level. We all love. We all cry. We all laugh. We all fear. Jericho speaks to us all because it finds not what is different about us, but what is the same in all of us.
2. What is your favorite episode/character and why?
I cannot choose a favorite character or episode. Every single episode is so well written and acted that to choose one I feel would do an injustice to the rest of the wonderful episodes. As for the characters, while I'm partial to certain ones, I cannot say I have a favorite. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching every single character evolve throughout the storyline. I truly do feel that all of the actors to a fantastic job at making their characters believable. I know...I chickened out...but what can I say??? I love them all!!
3. If I had never watched Jericho what would you say to urge me to watch?
I would tell you that there is something for everyone in Jericho. It is exceptionally well written, and superbly acted! There is drama, romance, action, adventure, comedy (thank goodness for Mimi and the chicken!) all in one show. What’s not to love? And if you didn’t listen to me the first time, I’d tell you again and again and again. I’d find a way to mention Jericho in all of our conversations until you finally would cave in and agree to watch, even if just to “shut me up”! Once I get you to that point, my job is done. Jericho will keep you coming back for more.
4. How do you think we can attract new viewers?
There are many ways to attract new viewers. Talk about Jericho to your friends and family. Encourage them to talk to their friends and family about Jericho. Send out emails to everyone about Jericho and include the links to the CBS website and also tell them how they can view on innertube. I recently received an email back from one of my contacts that my message about Jericho had been sent down the line and people were responding that they were watching and loving it! We need to Digg and comment on Jericho articles to help keep those articles in the public eye so that when people look online for Jericho they find the good stuff right away. We need to heavily promote the DVD release coming in October. Put up flyers in your hometown. Put a sign in your front yard. Place a bumper sticker on your car. Do anything you can to let people know about Jericho and never give up. We have to keep fighting for Jericho until we have season 3 and more.
5. Is Hawkins a good guy?
Hmmmm. I am undecided on this. I am truly hoping that he is a good guy. The writers and Lennie have done such a wonderful job of keeping Hawkins true allegiance a mystery to us. I can honestly say, I don’t know if he is good or not. But I’m really hoping he is a good guy! I really have enjoyed hearing Lennie talk about Jericho and the fans. I’d hate to have to listen to him and think about how horrible his character is! Please, please be a good guy!! (fingers crossed)
6. Anything else you'd like to add about yourself or Jericho can go here.
I would like to say a very large Thank You to all of the Jericho fans that have fought and worked so hard for this show! It has not been easy and we still have a long way to go. However, we CAN do it! I have met so many wonderful people through the CBS site, Radio Free Jericho, Jericho Rally Point and through chatting at Jeritopia. I continue to amazed by all of the people I have met. I knew going into the fight for Jericho that I would meet some neat friends. I never imagined finding a group of people that so quickly came to mean a lot to me. The Jericho fans I have met are some of the most caring, dedicated, passionate, respectful, intelligent, loyal, loving people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I am proud to be a Jericho Ranger and I am humbled to be a member of the Jericho family. Thank you all!!!

A Monster Fan Interview: K4ist
I enjoy all the interviews but this one has a little something that makes it stand out. I hope you find that something too. Thanks k4ist.
1. What attracted you to Jericho?
Well, I'd have to say that the whole premise of the show appealed to me immediately. I'm a BIG LOST fan...and every episode of Jericho I see, I just can't help but say to myself "This show is every bit as good if not BETTER than LOST. Overall, the themes depicted in Jericho draw me right in to the "What would I do in this situation" frame of mind. Jericho makes me THINK...and for a network show, that in itself speaks volumes about it's quality.
2. What is your favorite episode and why?
Ok, if I have to pick one...gotta go with the Finale...it had everything...Action...drama....comic relief...and the hands down best cliff-hanger ending I've seen in like....forever.
3. If I had never watched Jericho what would you say to urge me to watch?
Aside from duct taping you into the chair and fitting you with Malcolm McDowell-esque Eye holding open thingies? LOL....my method of encouraging new viewers has been to find out what interests them in a tv show...then jump them and show them that Jericho offers exactly what they like to see and tons more that they may have no idea that they like to see. Seems to be working...haven't lost a new one on my end yet!
6. Anything else you'd like to add about yourself or Jericho?
I'd just like to take the opportunity afforded here to express Thanks.
Thanks each and every fan out there who has done their part to help make this entire community what it is...we've come together as strangers, and grown into family...maybe slightly dysfunctional at times,lol...but family nonetheless. You guys/gals are the best, hands down!
Our Fan of the Week is terocious.
Congratulations!
I first noticed terocious in the "Passions" thread. He is very friendly and welcoming and loves Jericho. In the past week he has seemed to branch out. I see his comments posted in various places and he can Digg with the best of us. He has also been submitting stories to Digg and I've seen him out on other threads much more often. Thank you terocious!

Digg Tutorial
1. Join
2. You can use the search feature at top right and type in Jericho. This will pull up everything that has Jericho in the title. Some will not be about our Jericho show so feel free to skip those. Just click on digg.
3. You may visit a website where you will see a Digg This button. It could be on the left or right. Some websites put the small Digg button at the end of their article so just look around.
4. If the Digg button shows a zero then you will be the first digger. This means you will have to submit the story by writing a short synopes and picking the category in which it belongs. It only takes a minute or so when you get used to it.
5.Once a submission has earned a critical mass of Diggs, it becomes “popular” and jumps to the homepage in its category. If it becomes one of the most popular, it qualifies as a “Top 10”. If a submission doesn't receive enough Diggs within a certain time period, it eventually falls out of the “Upcoming” section.
The system only works when users actively participate on a large scale, so make sure to do your part and Digg and content that matters to you!
6.Invite your friends or find them on Digg and add them to your friends list. Then your friends can track what you’re Digging and you can see what they Digg as well, enabling you to collectively find news together.

What's Next For Jericho Fans ?
I think it's very important that all Jericho fans read this article "Jericho Fans: Why Aren't You Using the Internet? (Cultural Learnings)". I believe it's true that we aren't using the internet as much as we did during the Nuts campaign. The board is not as busy as it once was. Many people think the fight is over and we need them back.
"I know that everyone is telling their friends, and this is great. But it was the internet that made this campaign a success: without Digg and without bloggers, I do not think Jericho would have returned. This wasn't a grassroots campaign, it was an internet campaign."
Myles is right. How did people learn about the Nuts campaign in the first place? It was via Internet. Michelle Malkin covered us and the campaign took off. Why? Because she is considered the blogger that everyone reads. We need her back.
"We’ve seen two weeks of repeats, and it seems to be like things have just reverted back to where they were before: no one seems to be talking about Jericho. While I know that many have taken a more grassroots approach at marketing the show to friends and family (Which is great), I think that this can only go so far. The way shows like Jericho become successful is through cultural consciousness."
We need more than telling family and friends. We need to take over the Internet like we did before.
Read what Myles says was the reason Save Jericho was successful and what our goals should be now. Here's my opinion on what we need to do:
1. Send feedback to CBS after every show. Give gender and ages of everyone who watched.
2. Digg everything you can. I have posted an explanation on the CBS board and will post it here tomorrow as well.
3. Sign up for Google Alerts and leave a comment on every blog and article you possibly can. I've also posted that explanation on the CBS board.
4. Make your own page on as many social networking sites as you can. Myspace, Facebook, Ning, Ziki. I'll be writing explanations for this soon.
5. Ask friends and family to join you online.
6. Post on as many forums as you can. Be subtle. I've posted on several CBS boards but not about Jericho. However, my signature is about Jericho so everybody sees it.
I'll have more tomorrow.
