Jericho, Nielsen, and You- Part IV

Television today a form of information and entertainment that connects multiple platforms and reaches audiences at every possible level. Digital technologies are providing new and more targeted means to reach audiences, and consumers are using these systems and devices to decide for themselves when, where and how they watch television.

Nielsen Media Research has undertaken several major initiatives to modernize media measurement, including:

* Launching the Active/Passive Meter, which provides the digital platform for capturing what is viewed on the screen and serves as the basis for measuring all time-shifted and place-shifted viewing
* Constructing a state-of-the art worldwide technology center in Oldsmar, Florida
* Introducing electronic Local People Meters into the top 10 local markets
* Measuring Digital Video Recorder (DVR) viewing
* Measuring Video on Demand (VOD) viewing
* Securing a majority stake in Nielsen//NetRatings (Net Ratings, Inc.), the leading Internet measurement company

Soon to be launched:

HeyNielsen is an interactive and fun environment created by The Nielsen Company where you can share opinions on your favorite entertainment, such as TV, Movies, Music, and more.

I'm making this comment anonymous because I agreed not to reveal being a 'Nielsen Household'. I'm actually not any more, but I was for about 3 years. During that period I DID watch 6 or 7 episodes of Jericho.

I've just spent tonight getting caught up on a bunch of episodes I'd not seen before. I must have watched another 4 or 5 episodes tonight! Phew! I watched them on VeohTV (they have 23 available to view). I enjoyed them a lot, but It's now almost 5 AM in the morning and I'm exhausted. I blame this behavior on you, and all you Jericho promotion!! (kidding- sort of)

G'night. Off to bed now, no doubt to dream about Jericho.

Good morning. Thank you always for commenting.
I hope you're having a good rest. You deserve it after watching all that Jericho. I will gladly take the credit if you insist. Ha.
Having been a Nielsen household did you enjoy it?
I'd better head out to promote more since it's working. Ha.
I really enjoy your comments and hope you'll come back when you're rested.

Did I enjoy being a Nielsen household? Well, to be honest, I hardly noticed it.- it's not intrusive, and it wasn't anything I thought about much. I don't watch much TV, don't have satellite, so don't get many stations. They did give me a free TV when my old one broke down, which I certainly appreciated. The men who came up periodically to check on things were nice fellows.

I think that's how it's supposed to be. Something you don't notice. That's nice that you got a free TV and the Reps were nice.
More Jericho tonight?
Thanks for commenting.

Yes, I probably will watch a couple more episodes tonight. I've still got a bunch I haven't seen yet!

Which episode are you on? Don't you think the eps after the hiatus are much better?
Have fun.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm
watching after or before
hiatus eps. The last one I
watched last night was
called Black Jack, and
it looks like Heart Of
Winter is next on the
line-up for me to watch.

I love that I can watch
them online, on VeohTV,
makes it way easier for
me!

Okay, Black Jack was the 1st episode after the hiatus. So good.
Does Nielsen know about Veoh? I never saw it until you mentioned it.

I have no idea what Nielsen knows.

I don't know how long Veoh has been around. I discovered it about 5 months ago, before they launched the new 'Veoh TV', which is still in Beta release at this time.

I've never seen it mentioned in connection with Nielsen so there may be more people like you not being counted. I also heard about BeyondTV which makes me curious. I'll check.
Thanks.
