A Monster Fan Interview: ParAnger

ParAnger is an interesting person. She promotes Jericho much like I do by using Digg, StumbledUpon, MySpace and LinkedIn.
I haven't found too many people using LinkedIn or Stumble until she came along. She's at home on any message board and on the Wiki. She also has some wonderful ideas and I hope you will support them.

1. What do you like best about all the Jericho message boards?

A: I would have to go with the passionate nature of the boards, each one has it's own individual personality yet they are all dedicated uncompromisingly to the Jericho community, this makes for a tremendous heartbeat and footprint on and off of the web.

2. How much time per week do you spend promoting Jericho?

A: This is wildly variable week to week, one week will be just about web stuff, compiling info on the WiKi, digging, commenting on various NON Jericho sites, or emailing people with a new quoted line every week in my signature. During others I have the energy and abandon to make Jericho remarks to just about every one of my clientèle as well as reposting the little mini posters
at the grocery store and /or taking new fliers to events around the city. I always spend about an hour a week at the library and have been accorded permission to place bookmarks on the current events table, and in all new books! I also always take some fliers to the grocery store to leave in the buggies, or on the milk wall, so say between 2 hours and 20 hours depending on my week.

3. Johnston Green died in Season 1. Will someone die in Season 2?

A: If this was heart bet, I would say that none of the Major characters will die, not even Constantino.
But in reality, we have been told that the creative crew have been working very hard to compress an entire 22 episode story arc into seven episodes. Therefore there will be at least two deaths this season.
Q: Who?
A: at least Gray, and maybe Constantino

Q: Why or why not?
A: Jake and Eric need to have a clear path to becoming the
civil and military leaders of Jericho, and Skylar and Dale need to gain control of the Salt Mine to become the terrible twosome.... that would make a great subplot, especially when Skylar's Parent/s return.
Hopeful /wishful thinking, I'd love to see Constantino become a fugitive who eventually comes back to Jericho in season 3 on the side of the angels after seeing the error of his ways, but I think he will be taken out by the Army.

4. If you could talk to Nina Tassler right now what would you say?

A:THANK YOU, both for deeming Jericho worthy of a Pilot and for her supportive comments when she announced the return of the Series. Only Season 3 for ME !!
I would also suggest that she give Quincy Smith a call and let him know that the CBS boards (all of them) need an in house team if they plan on really making CBS interactive an innovative success .
Nina would not get off that easy though, because I would have a hundred questions to ask too.

5. How can CBS count all the viewers who watch and not just a select few?

A: Therein lies the crux.
I believe in the freedoms that our society has today and permitting anyone to devise and implement a system enabling even a purely commercial venture such as CBS to view real statistics may just impinge on some of those freedoms. If anyone figures out a way to anonymously detail all of the right now available stats (internet via various statistical counts / DVR via various cable conglomerates including the on demand features and DVD sales/rentals via retail POS terminals ) they may get a more accurate view of how many times it is viewed, but not how many people are really watching. Maybe CBS could announce during an episode that it is important to be counted and set up a free phone line with an automated counting system, but this could lead to ballot stuffing (to use the term loosely) or even just the accusation of it.

6. What attracted you to Jericho?

A: The premise. I was a fan before I even saw the pilot !
I have always been interested in aftermath survival fiction as reading material, so when I saw the previews I was in. After seeing the pilot, I was hooked. It was as good and better than I had hoped it would be.

7. How can we attract new viewers to Jericho?

A: Talk about it, nothing will ever compete with word of mouth for getting the word out! Even if we each just casually chat it up with ONE new person a day the results could be phenomenal.

Q:To the message boards?
A:comment about them on other boards and online communities. Put a signature in your email, leave a fun boldly stolen from the boards style poster in unexpected places.
Digg, StumbledUpon, MySpace, LinkedIn , DMoz.
I also am a firm believer in the pages at the WiKi, these actors are all fairly well known, if we keep their on-site content fresh , and updated, the WiKi will become the first place people go to get info on them. Don't forget all of the great nuclear aftermath pages and survival related pages that could be our foot in the door so to speak, this will give us an opportunity to get new users in here. (remember the WIKI is a wetpaint wiki so everything that gets posted on it gets spidered by search engines incl. google, alta vista, alexa, this could be HUGE)

a large billboard at every major intersection in America couldn't hurt either.

8. What do you most like to do besides anything involving Jericho?

A: Learn by any means imaginable. I love watching people , talking to strangers, reading books and riding the web, but the main focus of all of these pursuits for me is learning.

Any comments?

Thank you for the opportunity to speak my mind ,
I was honored and extremely flattered when you asked me to participate. Great questions!
